Depression
Depression is a common term often used to describe being in a prolonged low mood or feeling down for a lengthy period. It is also used to describe an illness which affects the mind. No-one is 100% sure what causes depression, it certainly is not a sign of weakness as anyone could suffer with it. Stressful incidents, physical illness, recreational drugs and genes are linked factors to causes depression.
Depressed people tend to have higher levels of stress hormones and unbalanced levels of serotonin.
Depression has many symptoms and can include:

- Balance in food changing maybe overeating for comfort or losing interest in food
- Losing self confidence
- Feeling guilty
- Feeling hopeless
